Face Lift

A face lift can help you turn back the hands of time and improve aesthetic issues in the face. Deep folds, wrinkles, and other signs of age can be significantly reduced by tightening underlying facial muscles and smoothing out the skin. A face lift also eliminates excess facial fat and tightens the skin, creating a more youthful appearance with results that look natural and beautiful.

The procedure is designed to remove excess sagging skin, elevate sagging jowls and cheeks, and, to some degree, remove wrinkles. Improvements in the neck, jowl, and cheek skin are most typically achieved with face lifting techniques which can vary depending on the severity and the intended improvements sought. Those who need less significant facial rejuvenation may also benefit from alternatives to face lift surgery, such as the MACS facelift, mini-facelift, or a variety of cosmetic injectable fillers that can provide more subtle results.

Face lift surgery can be performed by Dr. Natoli in a fully equipped surgery center that is certified by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, Inc. (AAAASF). This distinction is only given to facilities that strive for the highest standard of care.

FACE LIFT PROCEDURE

Facelifts are usually performed under a general anesthetic and can last from 2-3 hours depending on the procedure. Dr. Natoli utilizes meticulous surgical technique to hide the resulting scars and judiciously remove excess tissue and sagging underlying facial muscle to achieve a natural rejuvenation. During the procedure, excess skin is removed, and the skin tightened to smooth out wrinkles and signs of aging. The incisions are then closed.

Depending on the patient and results, the following alternative procedures can be performed.

MACS LIFT
This procedure is also known as the Short Scar Facelift. The MACS Lift can produce more natural-looking results by lifting the skin vertically instead of horizontally, eliminating the risk of attaining a “windswept” look. Developed in 2002, the MACS Lift stands for Minimal Access Cranial Suspension and is often appropriate for patients who desire mid-facial rejuvenation. Most patients who opt for this procedure are typically under 60. It offers a shorter and easier recovery period.
MID-FACE LIFT
Wrinkles, excess skin and fat, undereye bags, and other signs of age that affect the middle of the face can be addressed with a mid-face lift. Patients who have this procedure are often those with relatively good skin elasticity and individuals who are not looking for results that are better attained with a full face lift procedure.
LIQUID FACE LIFT

Subtle but effective facial rejuvenation can be achieved without invasive surgery using a combination of cosmetic injectable treatments. Often referred to as a liquid face life, Dr. Natoli offers a variety of options that can fill in lines and wrinkles, add volume to facial features for better contour, and augment the lips for a fuller, more sensual appearance – all administered in a safe, medical environment.

FACE LIFT RECOVERY
For all Facelift surgeries, patients can expect some degree of swelling, bruising, and visible sutures for the first 10-14 days. Any residual discomfort from the procedure can be managed with medication. Scars from the procedure are typically barely visible and well-hidden within the hair or natural creases of the face and ears. Patients can usually return to normal daily routines about 10 days after the procedure. Strenuous activity should be avoided for about two weeks after face lift. Patients can expect to see the full results of face lift in the first few weeks after surgery.
