Adominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

Having trouble eliminating extra skin folds in the abdominal region? Dr Natoli can help you attain a tighter, more athletic looking stomach. Tummy tuck surgery is designed to eliminate excess skin in the midsection. Excess fat and skin folds can appear in the belly region for a number of reasons including significant weight loss, genetics, aging, and pregnancy. This procedure can give you a more toned and fit appearance in the stomach area and is often combined with liposuction, helping to get rid of extra fat that isn’t responding to diet and exercise. New mothers who are having trouble getting back to their pre-pregnancy figures can benefit from a tummy tuck procedure called a mommy makeover. This procedure can do wonders for getting rid of excess skin and tightening the abdominal muscles as you can see in some of the before and after tummy tuck photos.

TUMMY TUCK PROCEDURE
A tummy tuck begins typically with an incision above the pubic area, stretching from hip to hip. A second incision is made to free the navel from the surrounding tissue. Next, the underlying abdominal muscles are tightened, getting rid of the excess skin. The navel is then stitched back into place and the incisions are closed.
TUMMY TUCK RECOVERY
Patients will start to feel back to normal after several weeks but you can expect to get back to your normal daily routine after a week or two. While the area heals, there will be some swelling and bruising and any pain or discomfort can be managed with pain medication. For at least six weeks after the tummy tuck, any strenuous exercise or strain to the abdominal region should be avoided. To avoided blood clots after surgery, short walks should be taken. After surgery, there will be some degree of scarring, but it will likely diminish over time and the scar can typically be hidden under swimwear and clothing.
